Ulrich Hempen, born in Minden in 1964, is married and father of  three sons. He starts his professional life by completing two apprenticeships in the field of electrical and electronic installation at the E.ON power plant in Heyden. Shortly after he begins his studies in Electrical Engineering at the university of Bielefeld, which he completes successfully in 1990. His first employment as an electrical engineer is with Hartmann & Braun in Minden. As a product manager he is responsible for measuring converters and user application software. After six years Ulrich Hempen decides to take on new responsibilities and becomes group leader of the product management department for system technology at Endress+Hauser in Maulburg. At the end of 1999 he changes the position within the company. As the new division manager he accounts for system technology at the location Reinach in Switzerland. One year later Ulrich Hempen relocates to Minden in Germany and becomes the managing partner of Endler & Kumpf GmbH & Co. KG and Astron Automation GmbH & Co. KG. He leads the business successfully for six and a half years before he starts his career at his current employer WAGO. Since 2007 Ulrich Hempen leads the international Key Account and Market Management in the fields of energy and process. His responsibilities were further extended in 2012, when the field industry was added to the portfolio.
